Four roofers in harnesses install dark shingles on a single-story stucco ranch home, with a ladder at the eave and a debris-filled dump trailer in the driveway.
Two roofers strip old asphalt shingles down to the wood decking with tear-off shovels while a third worker in a cap carries a shingle bundle at the ladder below the gutter.

Roofing Shaped by Decades of Experience

Carson Roofing is a residential roofer run by an owner with 40 years of roofing experience. Those years on roofs guide every inspection: we study how water moves across your roof, where it pools and which seams and penetrations it hits first.

In Carson, most rain falls in a few winter months, and long sunny summers bake underlayment and sealants for the rest of the year. That is why we plan roof care ahead rather than rushing it. Replace a brittle pipe boot in October and it never turns into a ceiling stain in January.

Roofing Services for Every Part of Your Roof

Most roof problems start small: a lifted shingle tab, a cracked tile, a pipe boot whose rubber collar has split in the sun. We handle roof repair and roof leak repair for those, and roof replacement when the underlayment or decking has worn past saving. We also work on tile roofing, asphalt shingle roofing, flat roofing and commercial roofing, plus gutters, storm damage repair and hail damage repair. Each service page explains what fails on that roof type and how we fix it.

  • Three roofers in harnesses lay gray shingles on a single-story stucco home, with an aluminum ladder at the eave, shingle bundles on the lawn and a dump trailer in the driveway

    Roof Replacement

Full tear-off, deck check, new underlayment, flashing and ventilation, with the work planned so your roof is closed up before the wet season.

  • Roofer in work gloves and tool belt fitting replacement asphalt shingles around a worn vent pipe boot on a residential roof, with loose shingles and a pry bar nearby

    Roof Repair

Flashing, pipe boots, shingles and tile repaired with matching materials, timed so your roof is sealed before the winter rain arrives.

  • Roof Inspections

A free, part-by-part check of your roof covering, flashing, attic and gutters, with photos and a clear answer on what needs work before the rains.

  • Storm Damage Repair

We find and fix what wind, rain and falling limbs did to your roof, from creased shingles to slipped tile, and document it for your insurance claim.

  • Gutters

Continuous aluminum gutters and downspouts sized for your roof, pitched to drain and fastened into solid fascia so water clears your foundation.

  • Roof Leak Repair

We trace roof leaks from the ceiling stain back to the failed flashing, boot or underlayment, then repair that part and show you photos of it.

  • Urgent Roof Repair

When wind, rain or a falling limb opens your roof, we cover the damage to keep water out, then return with a written plan for a permanent repair.

  • Hail Damage Repair

We find hail bruises, cracked tiles and dented metal on your roof, photograph each hit and repair it so the damage does not turn into a leak in the next rain.

  • Tile Roofing

Clay and concrete tile roofs repaired, re-laid over new underlayment or installed new, with the work planned for the dry months before the rains.

  • Asphalt Shingle Roofing

Asphalt shingle roofs installed as a full system, with deck repairs, new flashing and attic ventilation, timed for dry weather.

  • Commercial Roofing

Low-slope roof repair, coating and replacement for shops, offices and warehouses, scheduled in the dry months so seams and drains are ready for winter rain.

  • Flat Roofing

Low-slope roofs over additions, patios and garages rebuilt or repaired with modified bitumen, TPO or coatings, with drainage fixed first.

What Sets Our Roof Work Apart

Every roof is built in layers, and the joints between those layers are where it gives out. Our approach is to locate the weak joints early and repair them before the weather gets to them.

Forty years of roofing behind the advice

Our owner brings 40 years of roofing experience. He has watched three-tab shingles age beside architectural ones, seen mortar-set ridge tiles work loose and learned where an earlier roofer's shortcut tends to surface years later. The advice you get comes from that history, not a sales script.

Manufacturer coverage on qualifying roofs

On qualifying CertainTeed roof systems we install, CertainTeed SureStart PLUS 3-Star manufacturer coverage is available. We spell out which components the system must include for the coverage to apply, so you know before work begins.

Scheduled around the seasons

Reroofs and bigger repairs go on the calendar for the dry part of the year, when a passing shower can't reach open decking. Ahead of the wet months, we focus on resealing flashing, swapping failed pipe boots and clearing gutters, the work that decides whether rain stays out.

Photos plus a line-item estimate

Each free inspection includes photos of our findings and a written estimate broken into line items. You see the cracked tile or rusted valley metal with your own eyes and can check our numbers one line at a time.

Support with claims and payment

We work directly with your insurance claim, recording the damage and meeting the adjuster when needed, though the coverage decision is the adjuster's. Financing is offered through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval, and we serve customers in English and Spanish.

Why Roof Prices Vary

Two roofs the same size can carry very different prices. The material, how hard the roof is to get to and what sits under the surface count for more than square footage. Here is what we look at.

After we have walked the roof, your free written estimate breaks out each of these items. If the tear-off turns up bad decking, you see photos and the per-sheet price before any wood is replaced.

Area and pitch
Roofs are measured in squares of 100 square feet. Steeper slopes need roof jacks, harnesses and more time per square, so labor rises even when the roof is small.
Type of roofing
Asphalt shingle, concrete or clay tile and low-slope membrane each have their own material and labor price. Tile is heavy and slow to handle, and relaying your existing tile over new underlayment is priced apart from putting on new tile.
Condition of the deck
Plywood and skip sheathing can't be seen until the old roofing comes off. Soft, delaminated or rotted boards have to be swapped out before underlayment goes down, and the per-sheet price is on your estimate in advance.
Layers already on the roof
Some older houses carry two shingle layers. Each extra layer adds tear-off time and more weight to haul off.
Flashing, vents and penetrations
Every chimney, skylight, valley, plumbing vent and attic vent needs new flashing or parts set properly. More openings in the roof means more detail work.
Permits and code rules
A reroof needs a permit and an inspection from the local building department. California energy code rules can also narrow the roofing products allowed on some homes.

What Homeowners Ask Before We Visit

Is the inspection really free?

It is. Neither the inspection nor the written estimate costs anything. You get photos of what we found and a plain explanation, and if you choose not to move forward, you owe nothing.

What part of the year is best for roof work?

During a reroof the decking sits exposed, so late spring through early fall is the safest window. Flashing, vents and gutters are best done before the winter rains start. If your roof leaks now, we still help, with tarps and dry-in work between storms.

Can my roof be repaired, or does it need replacing?

It depends on how far the wear has spread. A cracked tile, a split pipe boot or a handful of lifted shingles can usually be fixed right away. When granules are washing off every slope, shingles break instead of flexing, or the felt beneath the tile is brittle everywhere, a patch just postpones the larger job. The photos let you make that call with us.

Will you help with my insurance claim?

Yes. We work directly with your insurance claim, recording the damage in photos and measurements, and we can meet the adjuster on the roof. Your insurer decides coverage; we make sure the damage is easy to see.

Is a warranty available on a new roof?

CertainTeed SureStart PLUS 3-Star manufacturer coverage is available on qualifying roofs. To qualify, the roof needs the required system components, and your estimate lists them.

Can I spread the cost out?

Yes. Financing is offered through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval, and we explain the terms when we review your estimate with you.

Is a permit required for a new roof?

Yes. A full reroof needs one from the local building department, and we take care of it. An inspector reviews the completed work, and the permit stays on file for your home, which is useful if you sell.

The Path of a Roof Job, Step by Step

From your first call to the last sweep of the yard, every stage has a clear job, so you always know what happens next.

  1. 1

A free look at the roof

We check flashing, fasteners, exposed underlayment and gutters, then look in the attic for staining or daylight. Whatever matters gets photographed for you.

  2. 2

    Your written plan and estimate

Each item is on its own line, and you get a straight answer on repair versus replacement. When timing matters, we mark what should be done before the rains and what can wait.

  3. 3

    Permit and start date

For reroofs we apply for the permit and pick a dry-weather start date. Materials arrive near that date rather than sitting on your driveway for weeks.

  4. 4

    The work itself

We cover plants, walls and windows before anything else. The old roof comes off, we check the decking, and underlayment, flashing and the new roofing go on. Any section still open is dried in before the crew goes home.

  5. 5

    Cleanup and final walk

We run a magnet over the lawn, beds and driveway for stray fasteners and haul the old roofing away. Then we walk the finished roof with you, new flashing and vents included. When a permit was pulled, the city inspector gives the final sign-off.

Get Your Roof Ready Before the Weather Turns

A free inspection tells you exactly where your roof stands and what to fix first. We will show you photos and give you a written estimate, in English or Spanish.
